CRIMSON FOREST
The Crimson Forest series will be exhibited as part of the Sydney Head On Photography Festival in November 2024
This body of work reflects my time living off-grid, far from the comforts of modern life. After the COVID lockdowns, my girlfriend and I left Sydney and moved to 100 acres of untouched rainforest. We lived without electricity or running water, bathing in mountain rivers and cooking over an open fire. Life on the land was raw and humbling, an experience that deepened my connection to nature.
Nature has always drawn me in as a subject, and I spent countless afternoons and evenings wandering the forest with my camera. The color crimson has long fascinated me, and in the solitude and stillness of the forest, it became a consistent source of inspiration throughout my work.
